If you are planning an upcoming vacation to southern West Virginia,  or visiting the Bluefield/Princeton/Pipestem area, you will enjoy the cozy, homey feel of The Country Cabin.
 
Located on Rt. 19 at Spanishburg, WV, it is just four miles from Interstate77, exit 14. The cabin retreat has an absolutely beautiful setting, situated on a 60-acre farm in the Bluestone Valley, surrounded by beautiful mountains and bordered by the Bluestone River. Five state parks are within a 30 minute drive.

Get away from it all and enjoy beautiful starlit nights and the sounds of owls and crickets
The old log cabin, built by a descendent of one of the earliest settlers in the region, features the round logs on the outside and solid pine wood on the inside, hardwood floors, walls, ceilings, and doors.
 
When you enter the home, there is a beautiful sunporch with wicker furniture and an antique table & chairs for a spectacular view of the Bluestone Valley.
 
Guests enjoy watching the deer as they graze in the pastures. We also have a resident squirrel, a few rabbits, owls and other little critters that stop by for a visit from time to time.

The kitchen features a large room with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and plenty of cookware and dishes.  

The dining room features another dining table with ladder back chairs

The living room has a beautiful stone fireplace, satellite TV, sofa, loveseat and chair.

The Country Cabin is near many sites and activities visitors enjoy in southern West Virginia, including:

Winterplace Ski Resort - has dozens of trails from the beginner to expert! Snowboarding and tons of winter fun!

 

Pipestem Resort State Park

is only 13 miles from The Country Cabin with horseback riding, indoor/outdoor pools, a tram that takes you deep into the Bluestone Gorge for a great dining experience! There are all kinds of hiking trails to enjoy. 


Bluestone State Park, Bluestone Lake and Bluestone Dam - These beautiful scenic spots are located 8 miles past Pipestem State Park. Guests can rent a boat at the Bluestone Marina or simply enjoy an outing at the park, with a great outdoor swimming pool and lots of hiking trails. Bluestone Dam is open for tours from Memorial Day to Labor Day. 


Great hunting and fishing is available year round at the Bluestone Wildlife Management Area. 

 

Camp Creek State Forest Day Park - is located just about 12 minutes from The Country Cabin and is wonderful for hiking and outdoor enjoyment and equestrians.

 

New River Gorge Bridge - Worlds longest steel arch bridge. Experience Bridge Day in October where base jumpers parachute off the bridge.

The Hatfields & McCoys Trail - The ATV Trailhead is located in the historic town of Bramwell, WV and consists of approximately 57 total miles of trail. this Trail System has a direct connection to two other Trail Systems, Indian Ridge and Pinnacle Creek by way of Indian Ridge. The connection of these three trails makes for the largest continuous legal miles of trails east of the Mississippi River.

Dining - Great restaurants are located near The Country Cabin. Princeton is just 7 miles away where one can find Applebees, Shoneys, Bob Evans, Outback, Texas Steakhouse, and a variety of family owned restaurants. Outstanding restaurants and are found on the premises of Pipestem State Park. Seafood buffets and prime rib special. Also, The Oak Supper Club is also a favorite dining place. It is located just past the entrance to Pipestem State Park.
